START TALKING TO YOURSELF. Well, we don’t really need to start, we all already talk to ourselves. The problem is we say the wrong things. We need to learn to talk to ourselves in a way that is edifying and positive, in a way that builds faith and confidence in God. How many times have you talked yourself out of something good...something that was of God? Negative thinking can deny you of blessing. Contrary thoughts can diminish and even destroy faith. God says ‘go’ and we question whether we can or should. His Word says ‘believe’ and we allow doubts to fill our hearts and we speak doubt and unbelief. We know He wants us to ‘give’ and we talk ourselves out of an offering that would have led to blessing. Elijah had trouble with this. When he was confronted by the Lord, he said; [1 Kings 19:14] “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I ALONE AM LEFT, and they seek to take my life.”...by the time he told that to The Lord...he had already convinced himself, spoken it to himself, and of course, it was false. It wasn’t true. It took God intervening to get him back on the right track. The challenge is to get a grip on your thoughts...when you do that, what you say to yourself will be positive instead of negative. [Colossians 3:2] “SET YOUR MIND ON THINGS ABOVE, not on things on the earth.” AND THEN...START TALKING TO YOURSELF. Speak God’s Word, His will, and virtue, and watch what a difference it makes in your disposition.
