Remember when this word was so much a part of life? Our sinful life was nothing but trouble. We brought it on ourselves, paid the price, and suffered the consequences of our wrongdoing. Thank God that type of trouble is over and done. Well, it should be over and done and it will be as long as we don’t fall back into sin and disobedience. Even then there is the hope of redemption when we genuinely repent. Now to my point; trouble still exists for all those who will strive to live a godly life pursuing His will. The reason? We have an adversary, we live in a world that is hostile to what we stand for and it is just simply the nature of life. There is opposition to everything good that God is trying to accomplish in our lives. This is why the Bible puts our lives in the context of spiritual warfare...It’s a fight, always will be, hence a lot of the trouble we deal with. The good news is that we have a place of refuge in times of trouble. [Psalms 9:9] “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A REFUGE IN TIMES OF TROUBLE”. We have a secure place to go during times of distress, affliction, and adversity. [Psalms 27:5] “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.” Don’t ever forget, YOU CAN FIND REFUGE AND SAFETY WHEN TROUBLE STRIKES.
