GUARD YOUR HEART. Of course, the reason is that your heart is a target of the enemy and if you are not very careful IT WILL BE INFILTRATED. What does an infiltrated heart look like? The devil is looking to position himself in your life so that he can express his attributes to your harm and the harm of those around you. Our hearts are fragile and sometimes it doesn’t take much to breach the barriers and defenses that you have installed. To see what an infiltrated heart looks like, go no further than [Galatians 5:19-21] “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” That can be our heart if we are not very careful. Our adversary is always looking for ways to hijack your faculties and express himself. It isn’t very hard to feel anger, unforgiveness, and the like. In fact, some of the above-mentioned have been called the ‘easy sins’ because they are so easily and readily expressed. So the admonition is to GUARD YOUR HEART, pay attention to your attitudes and watch out for every effort to infiltrate. [Proverbs 4:23] “KEEP YOUR HEART WITH ALL DILIGENCE, For out of it spring the issues of life.” The word ‘keep’ means to WATCH, GUARD, KEEP VIGILANT, AND POSITION YOURSELF AS A WATCHMAN. Of course, you would be very wise to take that position over your own heart. The stakes are way too high to ignore this very real necessity.
